You brought it, you fixed it!

Whether it was a coffee grinder, blender, iron, lamps, clothes, or jewelry, our dedicated volunteers and patrons saved almost 40 items from the landfill! Thank you, recyclers, upcyclers, and menders, for making our first Repair Cafe a success!

D:Wendy Lehman, Head of Youth Services, recommends Giving Thanks: A Native American Good Morning Address by Chief Jake Swamp for Indigenous Peoples Day.

"Giving Thanks is the traditional Thanksgiving Address of the Haudenosaunee (also known as the Iroquois Confederacy or Six Nations — Mohawk, Oneida, Cayuga, Onondaga, Seneca, and Tuscarora) adapted for children. The Thanksgiving Address is used as both the opening and closing of every social and religious meeting of the Haudenosaunee and a daily sunrise prayer. The prayer is an ancient message of peace, thanks, and appreciation of Mother Earth and all of her inhabitants."

Sunday, October 18, 1:30-4:30 p.m. (Bag Day - all you can fit in a standard grocery bag goes for $5)

Presale opportunities for Friends members will be Wednesday, October 14 from 5:30-8 p.m. (New member sign-ups and renewals are available at the door. See rhpl.org/friends for details.) All proceeds benefit the library.
