šŸ’§August 16 was National Backflow Prevention Day! Which is an opportunity to highlight an important part of keeping Rochesterā€™s drinking water safe.

Backflow prevention helps protect our public water system by preventing contaminants from flowing backward into the water supply.

At RPU, safety means protecting every individual. Our backflow prevention and cross-connection control efforts are one of the many ways we work behind the scenes every day to provide safe, reliable water to our community.

Thinking about making the switch to an electric vehicle or already driving one? RPU residential customers may qualify for EV rebates when enrolled in a Time-of-Use (TOU) Rate.

šŸš— $500 bill credit for your first qualifying EV
šŸš™ $150 bill credit for each additional qualifying EV

Already enrolled in a TOU Rate? You may still qualify for a $150 bill credit for each qualifying EV.

Plus, the savings can continue beyond the rebate. RPU customers with EVs enrolled in the TOU Rate save an average of $211.97 annually.

RPU staff had a blast supporting the 31st Annual Rochester the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Golf Outing at Willow Creek Golf Course!

Beyond a fun day on the course, the annual outing helps raise funds for scholarships, academic awards, ASHRAE research and local robotics programs, supporting education and the next generation of professionals in our community.

šŸ’§Apache Mall water tower restoration update!

Work is officially underway on RPUā€™s water tower restoration project! Crews are making progress as they prepare the tower for repairs and a fresh coat of paint.

The project includes:
ā€¢ Repainting the tower inside and out
ā€¢ Completing structural and concrete repairs
ā€¢ Replacing aging components and improving safety features

Work is expected to be completed by Nov. 1.

Thanks for your patience as we continue investing in Rochesterā€™s water infrastructure to help keep it safe, reliable and ready to serve our community for years to come!

RPU crews are responding to a power outage affecting approximately 2,695 customers in portions of northeast and central Rochester, including areas east of Silver Lake and extending south toward 4th Street SE.
