Hey friends, be sure to put 9/1 on the calendar for the grand opening of the new Ludlow Memorial Park playground. Just a short stroll from our park.

Calling all kids (and their grown-ups)!

Come play at the grand opening of the NEW Ludlow Memorial Park — a barrier-free, all-abilities playground where everyone can play.

We'll cut the ribbon and let the fun begin!

Make the most of your Saturday.

Take a walk or bike ride to Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve and visit the nature center, view our live creatures or explore our hands on items. Mr. Matt will be there from 12-5pm to answer any nature questions!

Head north to Lost Lake Nature Park for the FREE August open house. Mr. Liam will be inside the nature center with some neat facts about Rivers (the Mississippi and Nile). Miss Hollie and Mr. Cam will be at the boat launch to provide basic kayak info and let you try some kayaking by the dock. Kayaks and flotation vests provided. Noon-3pm

Still time to join in the fun on August 9th, 2026 here at Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve for our Miniature Floatable Boatable event.

Participants will build a 2 foot or smaller boat from our upcycled materials - or - you may bring your own supplies.

We'll launch them down the creek and see whose boatables really are floatable. There may be prizes involved and of course bragging rights for the boats that float!

Happy World Snake Day!

Here are some incredible facts about snakes:

There are more than 3,000 species of snakes on the planet.

Snakes smell with their forked tongues. They flick their tongues in different directions, smelling for danger and food.

Snakes shed their skin about once every month. This allows them to grow and get rid of parasites living on their skin.

Snakes have flexible lower jaws. This allows them to eat animals that are 75% to 100% larger than their head, all without chewing.

Here is one of our previous snakes, Twister, getting their learn on.
