As we approach the end of the first quarter (Oct. 14), I just want to put out a quick reminder how late/missing work works in computer class, just to avoid any confusion.
If an assignment is not turned in or completed on time, it goes into TeacherEase as a “Zero Missing.” That is a placeholder grade. That tentatively counts the assignment as a “zero” toward the final grade, which is a worst case scenario. Once that assignment is completed and turned in, that assignment will be graded, without penalty for being late, and the grade earned will replace the “Zero Missing” as the official assignment grade.
I will accept all first quarter assignments, without penalty, until the end of the school day (3:25pm) on Oct. 14 (last day of the quarter). Unless prior arrangements have been made in advance, this is a hard deadline. Once that deadline passes, partial assignments will be graded as is. If no work has been completed on an assignment, the “Zero Missing” will become a permanent zero.
