Join us on September 11, 2026 at 7 PM as we come together to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We will gather at the Rock Hall Firehouse for a solemn Remembrance Ceremony honoring the victims, first responders, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

The Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company is saddened to announce the passing of longtime member Oddmund “Artie” Angell.

Artie joined the RHVFC in October 2008 and faithfully served our company for many years as a member of our Fire Police. He had a genuine desire to help others and could always be counted on to do so with a smile on his face.

Artie’s dedication, kindness, and service to our company and community will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his fellow members, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Services for Artie will be held Sunday, August 23rd at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Chestertown.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Please keep Artie’s family and loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Artie. Thank you for your years of faithful service.

Congratulations to Kendall Joyner, Melissa Peck, Mary Riley, Logan Riley, and Lauren Walls of RHVFC as well as Christine Matherly of GVFC for passing the Maryland written and practical EMT-B exams!

The Maryland EMT-B course is a big commitment for our volunteers. There are 220 required course hours as well as the countless hours spent practicing their skills and studying. We are grateful to each of these members for their commitment and their willingness to serve.
