🫣 Remember when Rock Hill Galleria was the mall?

Sears is gone. JCPenney is gone. The hallway between Belk, Dick’s, and a trampoline park still has roughly 125,000 square feet sitting empty.

Recently, a shooting on the property shut the mall down for the entire day.

We walked through the decline, the vacancies, and what usually happens next when regional malls in the Carolinas hit this stage.

The Early Learning Partnership of York County has just announced the return of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library starting Sept. 3rd.

Every month, enrolled children from birth through age 5 will get a free, age-appropriate book mailed straight to their home — no cost, no income test, no catch. Sign a baby up at birth and they can collect up to 60 books by kindergarten.

First books usually arrive about 8–10 weeks after registration. The classic first title is The Little Engine That Could.
