Part-Time Building Official for Catawba Corporations

Location: Two Kings Casino
Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified, detail-oriented professional to serve as a Part-Time Inspection Review Coordinator in support of the Inspection Review Board for the Two Kings Casino projects. This position will be responsible for reviewing construction plans and specifications prior to scheduled inspections. You will also be responsible for accompanying the Inspection Review Board during on-site inspection walks to ensure inspections are conducted efficiently and consistently.
Role/Responsibilities-
Review architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and related construction drawings prior to inspections.
Become familiar with project plans, specifications, approved submittals, and applicable codes and standards.
Attend and accompany the Inspection Review Board during scheduled site inspections at the Two Kings Casino projects.
Assist board members by identifying inspected areas, answering questions related to construction documents, and verifying work against approved plans.
Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and recommendations for corrective action.
Prepare and maintain inspection records, reports, meeting notes, and follow-up documentation.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications-
Experience reading and interpreting commercial construction drawings and specifications.
Working knowledge of construction practices, building systems, and applicable building codes.
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to walk active construction sites and perform site inspections.
Experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, commercial building inspection or general contracting.
