Bethesda Fire recognizes and honors the men and women within our ranks who have served and continue to serve both our community and our nation. Thank you for your sacrifice and commitment to the citizens of York County.

Bethesda Fire Rescue would like to first thank York Preparatory Academy for allowing us to put together the Prom Promise event for the Junior and Senior classes upcoming prom this weekend.

We hope all the students attending their prom will have a great but safe night.

Secondly we would like to thank all the agencies that participated and helped make this an educational but also eye opening event, Rock Hill Police Department, SCDPS, York County Department of Fire Safety Squad 46-3, Med Center Air, Fort Mill EMS and Piedmont EMS with out all of these agencies we would not have been able to provide a realistic response and Vehicle Extrication scenario for the students and staff. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Joes Towing for the vehicle. Without their support this could not have been possible.

The response from the students was great with most commenting they had no idea the amount of people and equipment it can take to extricate patients from a vehicle.

After the event students and staff were able to look at all of the fire apparatus as well as the EMS units and Police and Highway Patrol vehicles, but the Med Center Helicopter was the true star of the show.

Again THANK YOU to all involved, same time next year.

York Preparatory Academy will be hosting a live vehicle extrication demonstration on campus. As part of this event, students will witness a realistic scenario demonstrating the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. You may see fire trucks, police vehicles, ambulances, and a medical helicopter on school grounds. This is only a planned educational demonstration. There is NO emergency and no danger to the public. This powerful program is designed to encourage safe decisions and protect our community—especially during prom season.
