IMPACT 〰️ "One of the most compassionate & life-changing 3 months of my life. Time Keeps Slipping By. Again, thank you to everyone who shared a moment of time to share their story, their music, their art, and their time. It healed, it brought hope, and it took our breath away. I haven’t been able to go back & walk through the empty Pilar’s or on the grey sidewalks. What we created was beautiful & filled with promise. I truly miss the people who shared this sacred space. The public art installation was my summer garden, I watched the flowers bloom daily, watered and cared for by the community. For some people, it wasn’t their garden & for that I have compassion. But, for those who shared this space, left notes, wrapped rocks, brought trinkets of love & surrender, and brought hugs & smiles I am forever grateful. To Jacqueline von Edelberg, the artist & my friend, your one strand of yarn became a tapestry of love & healing to thousands & especially to the Toledo & Uvaldo families. We promise! I promise! An organic, community expression that took three months to build came down in just over three hours. Where the work will go next is uncertain, but to all those who added their voice: we vow to leverage these materials to drive systemic change. That is our promise.
