The RIA-JMTC is taking over the bar this Friday, June 5th, at the Lock & Dam Lounge. Doors open early at 1330 for JMTC employees (because champions get head starts).

Since we just secured a historic Three-peat in the Island Tug-of-War competition—proving once again that nobody on this island can pull their weight quite like JMTC—we have absolutely no intention of letting off the gas. We need to keep accumulating Commander’s Cup points, and this Friday, we are asking you to channel that championship energy into a new sport: elbow bends.

We are officially issuing a double-dog dare to the entire workforce: Come out and see if our "fearless leaders"—COL Eloy Martinez, Mr. Greg Lupton, and Mr. Bryan Gripp can pour a proper drink!

Note: For those partaking in the high-octane options, please drink responsibly. Plan a safe ride home – Champions don’t drive impaired.

Battle of the Brains Trivia:
In honor of Army Heritage Month, the Army’s 251st birthday, and America’s upcoming 250th, we’re hosting trivia.

The Challenge: Expect nearly 250 years of American and military history questions.

The Stakes: We clearly have the brawn (see: Tug-of-War trophy), now let's prove we have the brains. Do not let another unit out-intellect us.

RIA-JMTC proudly recognized National Safety Awareness Month by hosting our annual Safety Day, bringing together our workforce and a strong lineup of industry partners for a day of hands‑on learning and demonstrations.

Our visiting companies filled the event with expertise and innovation, showcasing equipment, tools, and safety technologies that help protect teams across industrial environments. Their booths, demos and displays 🔧📊 gave our workforce the chance to see best practices in action and reinforce the habits that keep our mission safe every day.

Safety Day is a reminder that awareness is more than a requirement - it’s a responsibility we all share. Thank you to every partner, participant, and teammate who helped make this event impactful for the JMTC community. 💪

On March 18–19, RIA‑JMTC welcomed Gathering of the Green convention attendees for an inside look at our advanced manufacturing capabilities and historic craftsmanship. The convention brings together collectors, restorers, and enthusiasts of John Deere tractors and equipment. 🚜💚🚜

Guests toured the DoD’s only vertically integrated metal manufacturer, including the Army’s sole foundry and our advanced manufacturing center, and saw how we combine traditional forging with modern technology like 3D printing and robotics to support Army readiness.

They also visited the Rock Island Arsenal Museum, exploring more than 160 years of Army history and the Arsenal’s long‑standing role in the Quad Cities.

We were proud to host the farmers, collectors, and John Deere enthusiasts whose work keeps our nation moving and to connect two pillars of American industry with deep roots in our community. 🚜💚🚜

Important information for the RIA-JMTC workforce:

Despite the expected snowfall and the delayed opening of Garrison services on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, JMTC will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow. Please report at your usual time and exercise caution while traveling. Please direct any questions to your supervisor. Garrison message about delayed services is shared below.

The National Weather Service is forecasting more snow tonight and the possibility of freezing rain. Garrison services will open at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning. This specifically includes:

CDC / Childcare services – 2-hr delay; drop-off beginning at 8 a.m.
SAC Spring Break Camp – 2-hr delay; drop-off beginning at 8 a.m.

This delay will allow our BASEOPS contractors, and our civilian communities, to ensure that the roads, sidewalks, and parking lots are clear and safe for the childcare services, as well as main areas here on RIA. This should be the last series of delays with the weather warming up significantly later this week.

Please check with your leadership for unit specific guidance.
