Dear RIMSD41 Families,

The safety and well-being of our student-athletes is our top priority. Due to the extreme temperatures forecasted for Friday, September 4, the freshman football game against Geneseo has been rescheduled.

Updated schedule:

🏈Varsity: Friday, September 4 at 7:00 PM at Home — Game will proceed as scheduled
🏈Freshman: Monday, September 7 at 11:00 AM at Geneseo
🏈JV: Monday, September 7 at 1:00 PM at Geneseo

To clarify, there will be no freshman game this Friday night. The freshman game has been moved to Monday at 11:00 AM, with the JV game following at 1:00 PM.

The varsity game will still take place this Friday at 7:00 PM at Rock Island!

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we prioritize the health and safety of our student-athletes during the extreme heat.

Here are some important dates to keep in mind this month!

The Reading Revolution continued this week as one of Ms. Castro’s second-grade classes kicked off a new Mystery Reader program! Community members will volunteer throughout the school year to read a story to the class, offering three clues to help the scholars guess who their mystery reader might be.

There were plenty of great guesses — a farmer, a park ranger, and even Principal Campbell! But the mystery reader turned out to be someone very special: Principal Campbell’s mom, Ms. Milton!

Ms. Milton read "Do NOT Bring Your Dragon to the Library" and shared pictures of monarch caterpillars from her yard. Thank you, Ms. Milton, for helping bring the joy of reading to life and making the Reading Revolution a community effort!

Today, Rock Island High School celebrated the grand opening of its new School Health Link clinic, expanding access to convenient, high-quality healthcare for our scholars and families. ❤️💛

Through this partnership, scholars can access preventive and acute care, referrals, and other health services in a familiar, supportive school environment – helping remove barriers to care and ensuring scholars are healthy, engaged, and ready to learn.

Thank you to School Health Link, our dedicated RIMSD41 staff, generous donors, community partners, and everyone who helped bring this vision to life. Together, we’re building healthier scholars, stronger families, and a brighter future for our community!
