Just an FYI - if you have purchased an ATV/UTV in the last few years and have not reported it on your assessment sheet, please do so promptly to avoid further interest and penalties. It's the Law.

Also, see the attached photo from the Missouri Dept of Revenue about titling and registering your ATV/UTV!

REMINDER:
All ATV's and UTV's HAVE TO BE REPORTED to our office even if they are not required to have a registration or license plate.
If we find that you have those and are not reporting, you will be subject to penalties!

Dear Atchison County Residents,

As everyone is aware there has been a cost increase on about everything in our country and these costs continue to rise. The values on used vehicles are among those that have seen an increase this past year. We use the NADA for assessing vehicles for personal property and we wanted to let everyone know before tax statements came out that you will more than likely see an increase in assessed value on some vehicles compared to last year. We will continue to monitor these values over the course of the next year and hopefully the market will go back down as time goes on. Thank you!

While out assessing property, if we see you have an ATV/UTV that has not been reported to us, you will be asked to show proof of purchase and will have to pay back taxes PLUS Interest & Penalities for not reporting!! Even if they are not licensed they still have to be reported!
