WATER SYSTEM FLUSHING 💦

Weather permitting, flushing of the Rock Rapids city water system is scheduled for the week of May 11-15.

If flushing cannot be completed due to weather, we will reschedule for the following week of May 18-22.

Residents should take care when doing laundry during this time and check water for clarity before using. If necessary, allow some water to run in order to clear it first.

All fire hydrants in the system will be flushed to ensure proper function in an emergency. This also removes any iron and sediment that may have accumulated since the last flushing. Please call the utility office at 712-472-2511 with any questions.

Please bring items to the City Shop during the times published. No items will be accepted outside of these times.

Please see attached notice for further information.

You may purchase appliance stickers prior to the scheduled times at the City Office, 411 1st Ave, or they may be purchased at the time of drop off.

When the call comes in, it’s reassuring to know the lineworkers restoring your power are your neighbors. Our local crews put their training and dedication to work protecting families, powering the school and hospital, and keeping businesses running. In tough conditions and at all hours, they answer the call. Today, we proudly recognize our crews on National Lineworker Appreciation Day and thank them for all they do for Rock Rapids!
