In the days since the passing of Dolly Parton, we have seen an incredible response from our community. Families have been registering their children for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and several generous donors have chosen to make gifts in Dolly’s honor.

To those who have donated: thank you. What a beautiful way to celebrate a woman who believed so deeply in the power of books, imagination and opportunity for every child.

Dolly created the Imagination Library in honor of her father, who could not read or write. What began as a program for children in her hometown grew into an extraordinary literacy legacy that has placed hundreds of millions of books into the hands of children around the world.

We are honored to help carry that legacy forward here at home. Every gift helps us continue sending books each month to local children—giving families more opportunities to read together, dream together and build a lifelong love of learning.

Dolly gave the world so many reasons to remember her. We are especially grateful to everyone choosing to remember her by helping another child discover the joy of a book.

Thank you for helping Dolly’s legacy live on.

Helping Hands in action!

A big thank you to our volunteers from Sweetwater Literacy Center who stepped up to help a local senior citizen with some household chores. Sometimes the tasks that seem small can make a big difference for someone who needs an extra hand.

Helping Hands Day is all about neighbors helping neighbors and putting kindness into action. We’re grateful for volunteers who make our community stronger, one project at a time!
