WYDOT & Casper Electric will be routing eastbound traffic through Green River on Flaming Gorge Way, this Thursday morning, beginning at 9 a.m. for 2 hours to repair the glare shields in the eastbound tunnel. The work will be done with the westbound traffic still moving through the tunnel, while work takes place in the eastbound traffic lane.

Many of the glare shields were recently damaged when an oversized load entered the tunnel, shearing them off the concrete barriers.

WYDOT would like to remind drivers to drive safely, put their phone down and obey all roadside signs and closures. WYDOT crews will be running eastbound Interstate 80 traffic through Green River today at 1:30 p.m. so crews can clean up glare shield debris inside the eastbound tunnel. The glare shields were struck and damaged, and debris is presenting a driving hazard. The work is estimated to take roughly an hour.

Heads up I-80 travelers in the Evanston area:
WYDOT and Coldwater Group, Inc. will begin work on two I-80 bridges in Evanston beginning Monday, April 27. Crews will be replacing the bridges decks on the eastbound and westbound I-80 bridges over the Bear River and railroad tracks on the east end of Evanston.

This summer, crews will be working on the eastbound structure. Work will continue next year on the westbound structure. Drivers will see a single lane closure protected by concrete barriers on the eastbound lanes as crews work on half of the bridge at a time. Motorists should expect reduced speeds and narrow lanes while the work is underway.

Those accessing the Bear River State Park pathway under the bridge should be aware of possible temporary closures and active construction. The completion date for this work is October 31, 2027.

WYDOT and DeBernardi Construction will be continuing with work on the next section of concrete repairs slabs on the South Belt Loop, in Rock Springs beginning Monday, April 20th. Crews recently completed Phase 2 from Walnut Street to Stable Lane and will open that section tomorrow, April 17.
Work will begin on Phase 3 of the project, Stable Lane to Donalynn Drive on Monday, April 20th and will last roughly two weeks.
The completion date for the overall work is set for October 31, 2026.

WYDOT and contract crews from DeBernardi Construction will be finishing up work on a district wide bridge rehabilitation project from last year that includes work on repairing the expansion devices on the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad on Uinta Drive at the north end of Green River. Crews will be working on Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31. Drivers will see a single lane closure each day while the work is underway.
