๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’ THE TRUE COST OF PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITIES ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

When you see a wildland firefighter on the fireline, youโ€™re looking at far more than a yellow shirt and a hard hat.

Youโ€™re looking at thousands of dollars of specialized safety equipment designed to bring that firefighter home alive.

From fire shelters and Nomex clothing to radios, helmets, boots, gloves, eye protection, packs, and life-saving communication equipment, every piece of gear serves a purpose. Every dollar invested is an investment in survival.

Most people never realize that outfitting a single wildland firefighter today can cost between $5,500 and $8,500+ before they ever step foot on a wildfire.

The boots protect their feet on steep terrain.
The Nomex protects them from heat and flame.
The radio keeps them connected when seconds matter.
The fire shelter is their last line of defense.

These men and women willingly run toward danger to protect lives, homes, forests, and communities.

The next time you see a firefighter on the line, remember: behind every firefighter is a commitment to safety, training, readiness, and sacrifice.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Every tool has a purpose.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Every piece of gear can save a life.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Every firefighter deserves to come home.

Please take a moment to thank the wildland firefighters, dispatchers, mechanics, pilots, support personnel, and families who make this mission possible.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Courage. Commitment. Community.

Prescribed burns planned near LaBarge Monday and Tuesday

The Bureau of Land Management High Desert District, in coordination with the U.S. Wildland Fire Service, plans to conduct prescribed burns Monday and Tuesday as part of the Deadline Ridge Prescribed Burn Project, weather and fuel conditions permitting.

The project will treat approximately 210 acres of vegetation about 13 miles northwest of LaBarge. The prescribed burn supports the Wyoming Range Mule Deer Habitat Project by reducing hazardous fuels and improving habitat conditions for mule deer, including crucial winter, transition and fawning ranges.

Smoke may be visible from long distances during operations and could linger in the immediate area for several weeks following ignitions. Hunters, recreationists and other public land users should remain aware of active project areas and prescribed fire activity.

Prescribed burns are carefully planned and implemented under strict safety requirements. Firefighter and public safety remain the highest priority throughout all operations.

A huge THANK YOU to Sweetwater County Fire District #1 for stepping up as a 3rd Base Sponsor for the Red Desert Reapers! ๐Ÿš’โšพ๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Your support means so much more than just a sponsorship. Because of community partners like you, our players have the opportunity to grow, compete, learn teamwork, and build lifelong memories through baseball. Your investment helps provide equipment, training opportunities, tournament experiences, and keeps this game accessible for our kids and families.

Most importantly, youโ€™re helping us build strong young athletes and even stronger young men right here in our community.

We are incredibly grateful for your belief in our team and our mission. Thank you for everything you do for Rock Springs and for standing behind the RD Reapers!

Rest easy Jara. Thank you for your service to our community.

CHEYENNE โ€” Like the rest of the country, volunteers make up the majority of firefighters in Wyoming, and recruiting those volunteers has become more difficult over time, said Laramie County
