Are you looking for a barn/shop cat? RSAC is full of cats that want to work and not interested in making friends with people. We have all ages available. Please come down to the shelter if you need some cats looking for work! We need to get some of these cats out of the shelter and working.

LOW-COST SPAY & NEUTER CLINIC!

We’re excited to announce our next Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic in collaboration with Castle Rock Veterinary Hospital!

📅 October 10th, 2026
📍 Castle Rock Veterinary Hospital — Green River, WY

This clinic is available to households with an income of $50,000 or less, and a current rabies vaccination is required to participate.

📞 Call Rock Springs Animal Control at 307-352-1455 to schedule.

⚠️ Spots are limited! Once scheduled, you must pre-pay Castle Rock Veterinary Hospital by September 25th to hold your spot.

Spaying and neutering saves lives and helps reduce the number of unwanted animals in our community.

Meet Frankie!

Frankie is a handsome 7-year-old Mastiff with a heart as big as he is! He is friendly, playful, and truly a big teddy bear who loves being close to his people.

Frankie is great with kids and, according to his previous owner, he has lived with a small female dog. However, we haven’t had the opportunity to fully evaluate him around other animals, so we’re not sure yet how he would do with other dogs or pets. We’ve also been told that he can sometimes be standoffish with dogs on the other side of a fence.

Frankie is housebroken and can use a doggy door, making him a great candidate for a loving home.

Most of all, Frankie is a giant cuddlebug who would happily spend most of his day in your lap if you let him!

If you’re looking for a loving, playful gentle giant who just wants to be part of the family, Frankie is ready to meet you!

TRIAL ADOPTION!

🐾❤️ Meet Sesame — a young female with a whole lot of love to give. ❤️🐾

Sweet Sesame was found a few months ago in Green River and brought to our shelter. Since then, she’s been patiently waiting for the person who will finally give her the forever home she deserves.

Sesame may not be the biggest fan of the other animals here at the shelter, but when it comes to people… that’s where her heart truly shines. ❤️

And food?

Well, Sesame LOVES food. 😻

But her favorite thing of all might just be being held. The moment you pick her up, the purrs begin. It’s almost as if she’s saying, “Finally… someone to love me.”

There’s something incredibly special about watching a shelter animal relax in your arms and start to purr. Sesame has so much affection to give, and she’s just waiting for someone to give her a chance.

Come meet Sesame.

Hold her.

Let her purr her way into your heart.

We have a feeling that once you meet her, she’ll fall in love with you… and you might just fall completely in love with her. ❤️

UPDATE Black Jack- Trial Home, Molly- ADOPTED!!

💔 PLEASE DON'T LET BLACK JACK AND MOLLY STAY ANOTHER DAY

They both know what it feels like to have a home.

And they both know what it feels like to lose one.

Sweet Black Jack went on a trial adoption and, for a little while, it seemed like his story was finally changing. He had humans. He had a home. He even made a new friend named Molly, and the two got along wonderfully.

Black Jack had every reason to believe life was finally going to be okay.

Then, suddenly, he was returned.

Back to the kennel.
Back to the noise.
Back to the uncertainty.
Back to waiting for someone to choose him again.

And the panic set in.

He doesn't understand why he was brought back. He doesn't know why the home he thought was his disappeared.

Then Molly was surrendered too.

Two dogs who had only recently met found themselves sharing a kennel and navigating the sadness of being left behind. They became friends and kennel mates, offering each other a little companionship in a place neither of them wants to be.

They aren't bonded and don't have to go home together.

Both Black Jack and Molly could do wonderfully in homes of their own, including homes with another dog.

What they do have in common is that they love people. They enjoy having a friend beside them. And despite the disappointment they've experienced, they're still waiting for someone to give them another chance.

They don't understand why they're back in a kennel.

They don't understand why their humans left.

They don't understand why the life they thought they had didn't last.

But they haven't stopped hoping.

Black Jack deserves a family who will give him the stability he's been missing.

Molly deserves the same.

They deserve soft beds instead of kennel floors.
They deserve walks instead of waiting.
They deserve affection instead of wondering when someone will come back.
And most of all, they deserve a home where they never have to be left behind again.
