PRESS RELEASE:
The City of Rock Valley is pleased to announce plans to construct three new pickleball courts at Bicentennial Park. The project will provide a new recreational opportunity for residents of all ages and add another amenity to one of Rock Valley’s important community parks.

The project is being made possible through the generous support of Premier Bank in Rock Valley, whose donation will provide the funding necessary to move the pickleball court project forward.

Mayor Kevin Van Otterloo expressed his appreciation to Premier Bank for its commitment to the Rock Valley community. “We are extremely grateful to Premier Bank for making this project possible. The City had identified the need and wanted to provide our residents with additional recreational opportunities, but finding the funding to make it happen was the challenge. Premier Bank’s generosity allowed us to turn that idea into a real project. This is exactly the kind of community partnership that makes Rock Valley such a great place to live.”

The three new courts will be located within Bicentennial Park and will provide space for residents to enjoy one of the fastest-growing recreational activities in the country. The courts will be available for players of varying ages and skill levels and will provide an additional opportunity for residents to gather, exercise, and enjoy time together.

“The City is appreciative of Premier Bank’s willingness to invest in this project. Their contribution allows us to add a valuable recreational amenity without placing the entire financial burden on local taxpayers. We are excited to see the courts become a part of Bicentennial Park and look forward to residents enjoying them for many years,” said City Administrator Tom Van Maanen.

The City will provide additional information regarding the construction schedule and anticipated completion date as plans are finalized.

City Attorney has requested that anyone who is in the buyout program AND has an SBA loan to please provide the City Office with their most recent loan statement from the SBA.
You can drop it off at the City Office or email to [email protected]. These can be found by logging into their SBA account online and printing the statements or bring a copy you've receive in the mail. This will help the City Attorney in preparing purchase agreements and closing documents.

We need your help!

The City of Rock Valley used to have a system that had all of the trash can numbers with the addresses they were at. This helped us manage our trash can inventory and sizes. After the flood, many trash cans were lost or damaged and our system is now very outdated. If you have a minute, please fill out this form with your trash can and recycling can numbers (found on the front of the can). Thank you!
