Transforming 34th Street into a bus priority corridor will help move New Yorkers more safely and efficiently through Midtown.

We’re advancing plans for a new 34th Street Busway between Third Avenue and Ninth Avenue, bringing faster and more reliable service to more than 28,000 daily riders while improving safety

This project builds on proven results from busways across the city, which have improved bus speeds by up to 60% and reduced injuries by as much as 45%. In addition to improving transit operations, the redesign will help support freight deliveries, maintain emergency vehicle access, and create a more predicable and organized street in one of Manhattan’s busiest areas.

The World Cup is coming, and Midtown deliveries will look different ⚽️🚚📦

Truck deliveries will be restricted between 30th and 60th Streets on match days.

Cars, vans, cargo bikes, and local service vehicles will still be allowed.

The World Cup is coming!⚽️🗽

During local match days, we’re creating dedicated bus corridors and restricting truck deliveries in Midtown (30th St-60th St) to reduce congestion and prioritize mass transit access to games in New Jersey.

The time has come for McGuinness Boulevard!

We’ve officially broken ground on the complete McGuinness Boulevard redesign, and we can’t be more excited.

Let’s make McGuinness safer for pedestrians, drivers and cyclists.

The redesign will extend the existing parking-protected lanes running between Meeker Avenue and Calyer Street northbound up to the Pulaski Bridge. Upon completion, McGuinness Boulevard will feature one travel lane in each direction, one parking-protected bike lane in each direction, and one vehicular parking and loading lane in each direction.

McGuinness Boulevard should stitch Greenpoint together—not divide it in half.

Don’t let a celebration end in tragedy. 🍻⚽️🚕

Ahead of Memorial Day and the FIFA World Cup, we’re partnering with NYPD to ramp up anti-DWI enforcement and encourage New Yorkers to assist a friend in getting home safe by taking transit, a cab, or choosing a designated driver.
