We are incredibly grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Greater Rockaway for hosting such a wonderful 5th Annual Touch-A-Truck event. It was a beautiful day with a fantastic turnout, and we truly appreciated the warm welcome.

A particular highlight was seeing our friend and future officer, Nico, who did an excellent job practicing his driving and radio skills. Thank you to everyone who attended and to President Valerie Kuglin for your leadership.

Today, we celebrated 157 years of observing Memorial Day in Rockaway Borough. Thank you to everyone who joined us to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Great turnout at the Rockaway Borough Police Department’s “Coffee with a Cop.” Big thanks to Starbucks for hosting and bringing the community together.

It was a great opportunity to connect, share conversations, and continue building strong relationships with our residents.

Also turns out we may have found our second career playing barista and making everyone’s favorite Starbucks drinks ☕👮

The Rockaway Borough Police Department is looking for part-time substitute crossing guards for the 2026/2027 school year.

Substitute Guards "fill-in" when needed and hours can vary, based on availability.

AM Shift: 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
PM Shift: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Pay starts at $20 per hour

The snow has started to fall and our local DPWs are out and about treating roadways.

Please make their jobs as easy as possible by making sure your vehicles are not parked on the street.

Vehicles parked on the street will receive a summons and will most likely be towed.

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST SATURDAY...

Heavy snow. Snow and sleet accumulations between 5 and 8 inches. Local amounts up to 10 inches possible.

The storm is expected to last until 10 AM EST Saturday.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rates over 1 inch an hour will cause travel impacts Friday night. Local amounts could exceed 8 inches in the higher elevations.
