Hey, anyone out there do land clearing? Yes, the Rockfish PO needed to be mowed a month ago, so I won't normally call it mowing. My mower is waiting on me to replace the belt. I have cash for someone to do some clearing and some other trimming work. Needed real soon. I will try to get a picture of the mess in comments.

56 years ago, wasn't the best of times here in Rockfish. Homes were lost, lives were lost, and lives were permanently changed. If you lived near a creek or a river, which is hard not to in Nelson County, you saw nature's wrath with water, mud, trees, and anything else in the way of the storm. But, I've been told a thousand times, you never saw a community band together as tight as Nelson County was after the flood. God Bless those that perished and those that survived. It was like God wanted some people closer and others closer to each other...

They finally finish the last Bridge this side of the tracks! All 3 bridges are less than 10 years old! They were really fast and efficient with the replacement! This is the message from VDOT:
"VDOT will be performing a superstructure replacement on the Route 714 (Drumheller Lane), beginning Monday, May 5th and extending through Wednesday, May 7th. The Route 714 bridge will be completely closed during this time. This is a dead-end roadway. A temporary road from Route 620 (Farrar Bridge Lane) to Route 689 (Oakland Farm Lane) will be in place and motorists will then traverse through a private road and come out on the backside of Route 714 (Drumheller Lane) at the Serenity Ridge Retreat Center. Please see the map below for the detour route. The temporary road will need to be utilized both day and night from May 5th through May 7th. VDOT plans to reopen the bridge on May 8th with short term disruptions. Message boards will be in place on each end of the temporary roadway."

Wow, we got one of these corn mazes right here in Nelson County. They moved from my favorite bar Wood Ridge Farm Brewery to near Wintergreen this year!

Corn maze fans can get tickets now for two popular corn mazes in the Central Virginia area.
