Due to repeated vandalism and destruction of equipment over several weekends, recreational equipment will no longer be available from the Recreation Closet at Tosanak Recreation Area until further notice.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own equipment to take advantage of the recreational facilities available during their stay.

Many hands make light work! Join Floyd County Conservation for a volunteer day as we paint Lacey Lodge at Tosanak Recreation Area.

All painting supplies will be provided. Paint for this project was made possible through the Paint Iowa Beautiful grant and Sherwin-Williams.

🌈🌿 Color Me Outside Summer Camp 🌿🌈

Discover all the colors found in nature during Color Me Outside Summer Camp! Campers will explore camouflage, create their own animals to hide, go on a color hike, and enjoy many more colorful outdoor activities.

Participants will also create their own nature bag for future hikes and receive a Peterson First Guidebook to keep the exploring going after camp!

👧👦 For kindergarten and 1st grade graduates
💲 Cost: $20

Campers should bring a sack lunch. Since we’ll be exploring outside, please dress for the weather and outdoor fun! Helpful items include a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, clothes that can get dirty, and closed-toe shoes.

Transportation to and from Tosanak Recreation Area may be available through Public Transport, depending on the number of participants. A central pick-up and drop-off location in Charles City will be selected once participant numbers are known.

Summer camps are designed to be fun, educational experiences for all children and will be taught by the Floyd County Conservation Naturalist.

🎨🌿 Natural Art Summer Camp 🌿🎨

Let your camper’s creativity grow outdoors! During Natural Art Summer Camp, 2nd and 3rd grade graduates will create their own nature art using natural paint brushes, painted rocks, and other naturally creative projects.

Participants will also make their own nature bag for future hikes and receive a Peterson First Guidebook to keep exploring after camp!
