A fresh look for Tosanak Recreation Area! 🎨🌳

This summer, volunteers and Floyd County Conservation staff worked together to give the exterior of Lacey Lodge a much-needed refresh.

A Paint Iowa Beautiful grant was awarded for the project. Keep Iowa Beautiful and Diamond Vogel Paints assisted in providing funds for the purchase of five gallons of paint.

A big THANK YOU to Diamond Vogel and Keep Iowa Beautiful for awarding us a Paint Iowa Beautiful grant and to the volunteers and staff who helped make this improvement possible!

Every experienced hunter started somewhere, and today’s Hunter Education students are tomorrow’s safe, responsible, and ethical hunters.🦌

Hunter Education is about so much more than learning how to hunt. It’s about teaching safety, patience, responsibility, conservation, respect, and an appreciation for our natural resources.💧🌿🪵

Hunting traditions don’t continue on their own—they continue because someone takes the time to teach. When we teach a person to hunt, we’re not just teaching them skills for the field—we’re helping ensure that a respect for wildlife, conservation, and our outdoor traditions continues for generations to come.

The Fossil & Prairie Center will be closed today, Friday, July 31, due to the unavailability of a volunteer.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

The center will reopen on Saturday, August 1, and will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you then!
