As we close another incredible season of the Ken-Rock Community Center Youth Softball league, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this year such a tremendous success.
To our amazing players thank you for your dedication, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm every time you stepped onto the field. You represented Ken-Rock with pride, and we could not be more proud of each and every one of you.
To our outstanding coaches, volunteers, staff, families, and supporters thank you for investing your time, energy, and hearts into our program. Youth sports are about so much more than wins and losses. They are about building confidence, teaching teamwork, creating lifelong friendships, and making memories that will last forever. None of that would be possible without your unwavering commitment.
A very special thank you goes to all of our team sponsors. Your generosity allows us to continue providing affordable recreational opportunities for the youth in our community. Your support makes a lasting difference, and we are incredibly grateful for your investment in our children and our mission.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to Mercyhealth Sportscore One for providing such an outstanding facility for our league. The complex is truly second to none, and we are fortunate to call it home each summer.
An enormous thank you goes to Derek Papich and his exceptional staff. Derek, I honestly don't know if you ever clock out! Through every rainout, schedule adjustment, and makeup game, you were available 100% of the time. Your professionalism, communication, and willingness to help never went unnoticed. We cannot thank you enough for everything you and your team do to make our season run so smoothly.
Tonight, I also have the honor of recognizing someone who truly embodies the spirit of Ken-Rock Community Center.
Congratulations to Breanna Webb, our 2026 Ken-Rock Community Center Volunteer of the Year!
Breanna's story is one of dedication, perseverance, and unconditional service. She first stepped onto a Ken-Rock softball field when she was just four years old. After aging out of the program at 15, she didn't walk away she picked up a clipboard and became a coach. She discovered a passion for mentoring young athletes and has faithfully returned every summer since.
Now 28 years old, Breanna has spent 13 consecutive years volunteering as a coach all of those years without even having a child participating in the league. She simply loves the game, loves our program, and loves making a difference in the lives of young athletes. That kind of selfless commitment is incredibly rare.
This season made her accomplishments even more remarkable. After undergoing major back surgery, Breanna began the season using a walker. Despite the physical challenges she faced, she never stopped showing up for her team. She continued attending practices, encouraging her players, and leading by example every step of the way. Her determination proved that obstacles do not define us our perseverance does.
Her team rewarded that dedication by capturing First Place in the League and First Place in the End-of-Season Tournament an incredible accomplishment and a testament to her leadership.
Breanna showed every child in our league that no setback is too great when you are passionate about something you love. She demonstrated resilience, courage, commitment, and heart, and she inspired all of us along the way.
For her years of extraordinary service and lifelong commitment to Ken-Rock Community Center, I am also thrilled to announce that Breanna Webb has officially been inducted into the Ken-Rock Community Center Hall of Fame – 2026. This recognition is well deserved, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate everything she has given back to the program that helped shape her.
Finally, I want every player, coach, and family to know how proud we are of this entire season. Every team competed with heart, worked hard, and represented Ken-Rock with class. Championships are wonderful, but the friendships formed, lessons learned, and confidence built will last a lifetime.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our 2026 Youth Softball Season one to remember. We are already looking forward to seeing everyone back on the diamonds next summer.
