Two women from UIC who felt it was wrong to have sexual assault victims enter the emergency room without the provision of support and information started Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling (RSAC) in 1977. With funding from the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ICASA) beginning in 1982 and Rockford United Way beginning in 1984, RSAC has grown into a professional and volunteer nonprofit age

ncy that serves Winnebago, Boone and Ogle counties. Thirteen professional staff and thirty volunteers provide the five key services to survivors and significant others.

Do you want to be part of making an impact on sexual assault/abuse survivors in our community? RSAC is holding our 40-hour sexual assault/abuse volunteer training where you'll learn how you can be a support and resource for survivors. 20 hours of the training is self-study and 20 hours is in-person with RSAC staff.

RSAC is so thankful to receive funding from the Winnebago County Community Mental Health Board for our Outreach Therapy and Older Adult Therapy. These grants are funded by the ½ cent sales tax that Winnebago County community members voted for!
