📦 Connections Create Opportunities at Blackhawk!

On Friday, August 7, RHA welcomed the UPS team to Blackhawk for an on-site hiring event connecting residents seeking full-time employment with career opportunities.

Twelve residents participated, with laptops and internet access available to help them complete online applications. UPS representatives provided direct application links based on each resident’s preferred position and shift.

We’re excited to share that 10 participants received appointments to visit the UPS office and complete the final steps of the hiring process!

The day also included a meaningful full-circle moment: the UPS hiring manager shared that she was once a Blackhawk resident, making her return to help create opportunities especially personal.
UPS plans to return as preparations begin for peak holiday hiring.

With deep sadness, Rockford Housing Authority mourns the passing of Ken Oliver, President of the Resident Advisory Board and a former RHA Commissioner.

Ken was a devoted advocate for RHA residents and a valued voice in our community. His leadership, service, and genuine commitment to others made a lasting difference throughout RHA.

He proudly called himself “Mr. RHA,” a reflection of how deeply he cared for this organization and the people it serves.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Ken’s family, friends, fellow residents, and everyone whose life he touched. His presence will be greatly missed, and his legacy of service will not be forgotten.
