Today isn’t about the long weekend or the start of summer.

It’s about the people who didn’t make it home — the lives cut short, the families forever changed, the empty chairs that remain.

Take a moment to remember and honor them.

Freedom isn’t abstract. It’s made up of real people and real sacrifice.

We remember them. Always. 🇺🇸

💙 Did you know that... more than half of probation and parole officers in the United States are female?

This Women’s History Month, the American Probation and Parole Association proudly recognizes the women of community supervision—pretrial, probation, and parole officers, case managers, and support staff—who are essential to rehabilitation and public safety.

Women make up over 53% of the probation and parole workforce nationwide, bringing empathy, resilience, and strength to roles that demand all three. Their ability to build trust, support healing, and take a holistic approach helps transform trauma into opportunity for the nearly 4️⃣ million adults on community supervision across America.

This work is often thankless—but it is meaningful, powerful, and life‑changing. This month, we especially celebrate the women who balance demanding careers with personal sacrifice to make a difference every day. We HEAR you. We SEE you. And your dedication matters!

🌟 With special gratitude to the women of APPA:

Staff: Abigayle Harris, Allison Andrews, Andrea Henderson (Probation Fellow), Corrie Ash, Darlene Webb, Delores Johnson, Gwyn Kaitis, Kimberly Mills, Star Troutman, Veronica Cunningham

Board of Directors: Alyza Gonzales, Audrey Rigsbee, DeAnna Hoskins, Dena Davis, Hannah Cockran, Isabel Pérez‑Morina, Jennifer Brady, LaTasha Jones, Susan Rice, Suwana Kirkland, Tania Appling

Thank you for all you do—today and every day! 💪
