Souls Harbor Food Pantry Since 2003 we have been providing food assistance and a little bit of hope to the Rockford, Illinois area.

Open the 1st & 3rd Monday’s of each month from 5:30-7:00pm and the
2nd & 4th Mondays of each month from 12-1pm

Tomorrow, March 30th, is the 5th Monday, so we will be open from noon-1pm.

We will be closed Monday, March 9th. We will reopen Monday, March 16th from 5:30-7:00pm.

Hi! Some of you are checking out our pantry because you have heard that your SNAP benefits will be cut off on November 1st if the government is still shut down. I know we are on the list of resources that has been publicized by the media.

This past Monday when we were open, we were almost overwhelmed by the amount of people that showed up for food.
We have limited resources and time, with a staff of only volunteers. It was exhausting, but we do it because we care about our community.

In the days ahead, to help us continue to help our community like we have been doing for the past 22 years, please consider these before visiting a pantry:

Am I truly in need or am I just afraid I will lose my SNAP benefits?

Do I have some food in my cabinets or freezer that I should use up that has been forgotten about because it’s not a favorite? Look up recipes using that ingredient and use it up.

Our pantry works to reduce food waste by participating in food rescue programs with local grocery stores. Let’s not waste any food at home either!

Lastly, please be polite to those you encounter at the pantry you visit. We are doing our best, but we have limitations as to how many we can serve due to time and resources.
