West Suburban Fire responded to a 3 vehicle accident at Pierpont & Auburn St. Minor injury reported and transported to local hospital. Thank you Blackhawk/New Milford Fire for the Auto-Aid response.

West Suburban Fire was toned out for a vehicle fire that was close to a structure. West Suburban’s auto-aid was activated due to the nature of vehicle being close to structure. On arrival of first unit they advised a working vehicle fire and that the structure was starting to catch fire as well. The first engine got on scene and stretched a line and protected the exposure and extinguished the vehicle fire. Job well done by all to keep the structure intact! Thank you to our auto-aid companies that responded.

West Suburban Fire was toned out for a house fire around 2pm. Fire crews arrived to heavy fire showing from the front side of the home. Mabas Box to the 2nd alarm was request. No injuries were reported. West Suburban would like to thank all the mutual-aid companies for their assistance at today’s fire.

Yesterday, early morning hours West Suburban Fire department was called for a possible commercial fire. On arrival of first arriving units, they learned that it was a semi that was on fire inside of a garage. Mabas box was activated and area departments came into assist. We appreciate all the mutual-aid companies that responded and assisted.

West Suburban Fire would like to welcome two new members to the department.

Please welcome FF. Heather Kerr, she took some time off from the fire service and had the urge to get back into the service and were glad she’s aboard. FF Kerr, will be attending the next Basic Operations Firefighter Academy through IFSI here late winter/early spring.

Please welcome FF. Trevor Smiley to the department as well. Trevor brings about 5-6 years of experience to our department as well as being certified as a FF2 within the state.

West Suburban Fire responded to the area of Springfield and Preston for a report of a semi trailer on fire. First arriving crew found a semi trailer on fire with fire coming from underneath by the duals. The driver advised he lost his fuel tank on his refer unit which caused the fire. Fire was knocked down quickly. Thank you to Blackhawk Fire for your assistance.

West Suburban Fire Department hosted a annual training that is require with our auto-aid departments at Rockford Fire Training Facility at station 6 this past weekend. We had certified instructors from area departments help out with our drill. The main focus was coordinated fire ground operations.
