East Rockingham Fire Department is very thankful for the opportunity to train alongside Richmond County Rescue Squad, and Hamlet Fire Rescue and EMS. These joint trainings are extremely valuable and help strengthen our partnerships and response as automatic aid agencies.

We would also like to sincerely thank Bostick BP, Towing and Emergency Spill Response for providing the vehicles and continued support of our training efforts. We truly appreciate it.

Attention: NC has issued a burn ban until further notice. This burn ban has been in effect since March 28, 2026.

What does this mean?
No open burning is allowed and no new burn permits will be issued until further notice.

Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide. No new burning permits will be issued.

Congratulations to Master Firefighter Nick Sylvain for completing North Carolina Breathing Equipment School in Gastonia, NC. Gaston College Regional Emergency Services Training Center

NCBES is an extremely strenuous week long class that pushes firefighters to their limits and teaches essential skills like Self Contained Breathing Apparatus confidence, firefighter self rescue, and Rapid Intervention for a downed firefighter.

ERFD currently has only two NCBES certified personnel.

East Rockingham Fire Department 50-Year Anniversary Celebration

The East Rockingham Fire Department is honored to invite the community to join us in celebrating our 50-Year Anniversary on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at East Rockingham Fire Station No. 1, located at 487 Airport Road.

This milestone event will recognize five decades of dedicated service to the citizens of East Rockingham and the surrounding areas. The celebration will feature lunch, live music, and a special presentation honoring current and past members whose commitment and sacrifices have helped shape the department over the last 50 years.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to view a memorabilia and historical display, showcasing photographs, equipment, and items from throughout the department’s history. This exhibit will highlight the growth of the department, the evolution of fire service operations, and the proud legacy built by generations of firefighters.

This event is family-friendly and open to the public, and it provides a wonderful opportunity to meet your local firefighters, learn more about the East Rockingham Fire Department, and celebrate alongside those who have served and supported the department over the years.

We sincerely hope you will join us as we honor the past, recognize the present, and look forward to the future of the East Rockingham Fire Department.
