Capt. Sikkema got a call recently.

It was about the ship.

There have been all sorts of folks hoping to be the the ship’s next stewards.

Sam spoke to a reporter about it.

There’s not much easy about these grand schooners. The longer they survive though, the more beautiful they become.

Caterpillar by moonlight or -

Giant hoagie.

She’s snugged down at the wharf.

She’s swaddled tight with the heat wrap.

She’s ready for her winter’s nap.

Her future beyond our care, we don’t know.

A batch of us hung out afterwards yesterday; a “wrap party” of sorts.

We joked about the season’s highlights. We laughed about the season’s lowlights.

The ship doesn’t owe us a thing; she performed like a champ.

Let her sleep a bit. She’s earned it.

“What’s happening to the ship?”

That’s the big question we keep getting.

We don’t know yet.

All we do know, is that we’re sealing her up tight. She’ll look like a caterpillar soon.

We hope she’ll emerge a butterfly soon enough.

With VICTORY CHIMES, traditions were a tradition.

We did stuff because we did stuff - y’know, tradition.

At the end of each season, we go candlestick bowling.



Yes, yes - we already had the End-of-season-get-together, which was fine - it’s a tradition,

BUT -

there’s also the bowling night.

Another tradition.

It was fun. It always is. That’s tradition too.

But fun, that’s too easy for us adventure type. We need some chaos.

And so we had some.
