10/1/17- The Knox County Explorers went the to range with the following officers Sgt. Palmer, Dep. Smith, Dep. Jack, Dep. Simonetti, Dep. Hills all from the sheriffs office. From the Thomaston Police Department Sgt. Olaf, and Officer Stevens. The explorers who attended all the pre range classes and the firearm's range were Ryan Colson, Joseph Benner, and Sean Krejsa. To attend the range the explorers have to attend three fi****ms classes. In the classes they learn about gun safety, fundamentals of marksmanship, how to take apart and put back together the weapons they use. At the end of the classes they had to take a written test that includes questions about safety, what is deadly force and when is it authorized, nomenclature of the weapon systems and definitions. The weapons the explorers got to use were G***k 22's and AR-15's. At the range the explorers worked on different fundamental drills along with accuracy drills. A big thank you to everyone who attended the range!!!

12/17/16- final day. This trip has been amazing. It has been such an honor and privilege to be apart of this wonderful experience. Being fully involved in a law enforcement experience with the officers themselves is great. Trevor and I hope to be able to get the chance to come back to Washington, D.C. With the Sheriffs around the state and participate and pay tribute once again after becoming an officer. A huge thanks to Sgt. Palmer and Sgt. Polky for allowing us to come down and making everything happen.
