We will be holding our 9/11 Ceremony on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 8:30 AM here at the Rockland Fire Department.

This is a time for us to come together as a community to honor and remember all those we lost on September 11, 2001, and to recognize the courage of the first responders who answered the call that day.

All are welcome to attend.

Rockland Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1584 extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and department of Lieutenant Shannon Haley. Lt. Haley was a dedicated public servant whose presence and compassion touched many — especially through her work with the children’s burn camp, where she became a familiar and beloved face. We are grateful for all she gave to the fire service and to the communities she served. Her sudden passing is a profound loss, and our thoughts are with all who knew and loved her.

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn with our brothers and sisters in Bangor who have lost another firefighter —just over a year since their last tragic loss.

To the firefighters, families, and friends affected: our thoughts and our prayers are with you, and we stand ready to support you however we can. You are not alone.

Another remarkable year hosting the Portland firefighters children’s burn camp, fostering hope and resilience in the hearts of these courageous young individuals. Almost 40 people at the station today after an exhilarating day of skiing at the snowbowl, creating lasting memories. Thank you for generously sharing your valuable time with us and thank you to all the dedicated members who helped make this possible!
