🚧 Traffic Alert: Pine Road Bridge Closure & Detour 🚧

The City of Philadelphia has announced that the Pine Road Bridge over the Fox Chase Lorimer Trail will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, August 17, 2026 for a full bridge reconstruction project. Construction is expected to continue through Summer 2027.

Detours:
➡️ Northbound Traffic: Oxford Avenue → Rhawn Street → Verree Road → Bloomfield Avenue → Pine Road

⬅️ Southbound Traffic: Pine Road → Bloomfield Avenue → Verree Road → Rhawn Street → Oxford Avenue

🚶‍♂️🚴 Fox Chase Lorimer Trail: The trail will remain open for most of the project, with occasional temporary closures during construction. Advance notice will be provided before any trail closures.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use the posted detour routes if you travel through the area.

The Montgomery County Planning Commission is undertaking an update to the County's on-road bicycle plan, Bike Montco, originally published in 2018. Bike Montco 1.5 will take into account the proliferation of electric micromobility (e-mobility) devices on our roadway and trail networks and create a new map that will prioritize connections on low-traffic stress streets.

We are looking for feedback from the public to help develop this update. Our Bike Montco 1.5 survey is now live! Visit our project on Engage Montco to provide your input.

Your response will shape how residents and visitors roll around the county in the future. If you ride a bicycle, e-bike, e-scooter, etc. or have an interest in riding on these devices in the future, we want to hear from you!

🚧 NOW HIRING: Full-Time Public Works Laborer 🚧

The Borough of Rockledge is accepting applications for a Full-Time Public Works Laborer.

Position Details:
🛠️ 40 hours per week (5 days/week, 8 hours/day)
💰 Salary: Dependent on Qualifications (DOQ)

Primary Duties Include:
• Building and grounds maintenance
• Grass cutting and landscaping
• Road maintenance
• Snow plowing and snow removal
• Leaf collection
• Other assigned Public Works duties

Qualifications:
✅ Ability to perform manual labor in all weather conditions
✅ Operate equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, snow blowers, leaf machines, and similar equipment
✅ Follow verbal instructions and work safely
✅ Be available for emergency call-outs
✅ Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required
✅ Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test

🚧 Road Closure Notice – South Sylvania Avenue 🚧

Please be advised that S. Sylvania Avenue will be closed to all vehicle traffic beginning at 5:30 PM on Friday for the Fourth of July festivities.

Access to the parking lot will not be affected and will remain open throughout the event.
