Delighted to join community leaders for a ribbon cutting celebrating new home construction in Grizzly Flats. Last week marked the five-year anniversary of the Caldor Fire, which devasted Grizzly flats and destroyed nearly 800 homes. There’s still much to do, but it’s so encouraging to see a community come together like this.

Thank you to George Turnboo, El Dorado County District 2 Supervisor and all others in attendance for your tireless support of Grizzly Flats.

This week we celebrated National Intern Day. It was a pleasure to have Gianna (Senior at University of Connecticut), Madeline (Senior at Harvard), and Caitlyn (Sophomore at UC Berkeley) serve in my DC office this summer. Thank you for all your hard work this summer on behalf of my constituents in .

We are formally asking the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to block California's new healthcare tax. Voters expressly prohibited the state from imposing such a tax, which will increase premiums by up to $400 for California families.

From the moment I was sworn into office, constituent service has been my top priority. In just over three years, we’ve closed more than 6,000 individual cases returning over $21 million directly to constituents and helped communities in the district receive over $315 million in federal grants and funding support.

As the only Member of Congress serving as an Independent, this is what it means to serve all of our constituents and deliver nonpartisan results.

Receiving the "2026 Democracy Award for Best of Constituent Service" is a tremendous honor and a tribute to the incredible work of our district office team. We always put constituent service first.

Governor Gavin Newsom just signed a new healthcare tax that will increase premiums for Californians by hundreds of dollars. This defies the will of our voters, who passed Prop. 35 to limit such tax increases.

This is simply something that our state cannot afford. In a formal letter, I am asking the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services to block the implementation of this tax proposal.

Huge news for Roseville and the entire Sacramento region! I worked with the U.S. Department of Commerce to help secure up to $225 million in direct funding to support a $2 billion investment by Bosch to transform its Roseville, CA site for the production of silicon carbide semiconductors.

This project, which is expected to create approximately 500 family-sustaining jobs, will help drive innovation and expand a highly skilled workforce in our region, further establishing Roseville as a center for cutting-edge manufacturing. It’s a great example of how strategic investment can reinforce America’s semiconductor leadership.

Help name Roseville's future parks! The City of Roseville is inviting the community to help name three future neighborhood parks during the annual park naming process.

We’re lucky in Roseville to have so many wonderful parks for the community – and I admit to a soft spot for parks since I got engaged at a local park.

Residents can submit suggested names through the end of July. Community members are encouraged to submit suggestions that reflect Roseville's history, natural features, neighborhoods, or the unique character of each park.

Our beautiful public lands are essential to the character of California, but they also mean local governments cannot collect property taxes on millions of acres of federal land.

Yesterday, California was awarded $80 million in federal PILT payments, of which millions of dollars will go directly to counties in California’s Third Congressional District. PILT is essential for funding public services like schools, public safety, roads, and emergency response.

The Department of the Interior today announced that more than 1,900 state and local governments across the country will receive a total of $733 million in Payments in Lieu of Taxes program funding for 2026. Because local governments cannot tax federal lands, these annual payments help defray the cos...
