Fallen American Veterans Foundation FAVF is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to "Honor the Promise" of "Leave No One Behind" The Fallen American Veterans Foundation, Inc. Department of Defense.

(FAVF) is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable corporation dedicated to the Promise of "Leave No One Behind.” FAVF is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the U.S. Department of Defense in the physical search and recovery of U.S. Service Personnel Missing In Action (MIA) in remote and inhospitable parts of the world. FAVF is currently engaged in the search and recovery of 53 MIAs - from Greenland to Antarctic

a to the Philippines, Vietnam, and Papua New Guinea. Our mission is threefold:

Provide assistance to the U.S. Department of Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) in the search and recovery of US Service Personnel Mission In Action through FAVF’s specialized knowledge, procedures, and protocols gained while working in deep glacier polar and offshore environments. Advocacy for the families of the US Service Personnel Mission In Action. Through programs dedicated to increasing public and Congressional awareness of MIA issues, FAVF intends to promote and expedite the recovery of all 32,000 US Service Personnel Missing In Action deemed recoverable by the U.S. Over 83,000 US Service Personnel are MIA from WWII forward to today. Due to “deep sea” losses and where no remains exist as many as 50,000 MIAs are likely never to be recovered.

Fallen American Veterans Foundation Founder Luciano Sapienza was part of the team that located and excavated ‘Glacier Girl’ from under 268 feet of Arctic ice.

Today, Sapienza prepares to return to Greenland, this time leading an expedition to locate and recover 8 Missing In Action servicemen entombed in their aircrafts deep inside glacial ice.

Fallen American Veterans Foundation (FAVF) was honored to join the U.S. Department of War at The Pentagon for National POW/MIA Recognition Day.

Deputy Command Chaplain JTF-NCR & MDW CH (LTC) KEVIN TRIMBLE delivered the Invocation to guests that included United States Naval Aviator, Prisoner Of War, Rear Admiral ROBERT SHUMAKER, who was held captive for eight years and one day as a prisoner in North Vietnam and coined the term, ‘Hanoi Hilton.’ (https://www.history.navy.mil/browse-by-topic/wars-conflicts-and-operations/prisoner-of-war/robert-h-shumaker.html)

Also in attendance were Gold Star families and leadership from a variety of organizations serving POW/MIA and veteran support missions.

Chief of Staff of the United States Army, GENERAL RANDY GEORGE and United States Secretary of War, The Honorable PETE HEGSETH delivered impactful and poignant remarks.

Every branch of the Armed Forces was represented in the presentation of Pass And Review.

‘The President’s Own’, The United States Marine Band presented Joint Service Medley.

The event concluded with a ‘Missing Man’ formation by the United States Navy VFA-106 ‘Gladiators.’

FAVF was honored to accept the invitation of DPAA Director Kelly McKeague at a private post-event reception convening leadership with missions of supporting POW/MIA support.

Today 81,000 remain Missing In Action from conflicts worldwide. 38,000 are deemed recoverable.
