Consider helping Talcott Free Library in their annual chemo hat project. What a wonderful way to lend a hand (or hat) to the community ❤️

Talcott Free Yarns Chemo Hat Charity Knit

Every year, the knit and crochet group of the Talcott Free Library in Rockton embarks on a project. We, along with many friends and neighbors, knit Chemo Hats for cancer patients at the four area hospitals. The response is gratifying. Over the years we’ve collected 100’s of wonderful hats. They are so deeply appreciated for their warmth and comfortable, but also as a reminder to patients that they are part of a community that cares.

If you would like to join us, here are the basic hat requirements; They need to be very soft, so acrylic or cotton is best. They need to be washable. They should be hats for men and women, ages 18 and up.

As knitters, we all have odd bits and unused skeins in our stash that will be excellent for this project. We’ve even got a free pattern available at the library, right next to the Charity Drop Off basket. Knots of Love, a nationwide organization, also has many free Chemo Hat knit & crochet patterns.

Bring your finished hats to the Charity Drop Off basket at the Talcott Free Library in Rockton. Thank you in advance for any contributions you can make!

This Tuesday, the Village of Rockton Board of Trustees passed an Ordinance officially designating the building at 120 W. Main Street (location of Pick-A-Dilly Antiques) as a Historic Local Landmark! This stunning historic building is just the fifth building to be designated by the Village in this category. This Landmark designation ensures that this part of our Village's history will continue on for generations to come.

Building history: this Late Era Victorian building was constructed in 1908 and began as Hopkins Meat Market.

Stop in Downtown Rockton to visit Pick-A-Dilly Antiques and see the Village's newest Landmark!
