Last night the members of Defenders attended the Rockville Centre Fire Department’s second annual Margaritaville Evening. This year the honoree for the evening was our very own Honorary Chief Bruce Schwarting who also serves as the Department AND Company Secretary as well as our Board of Instruction Delegate! Chief Schwarting was surrounded by family and friends and he certainly was NOT any Nobody from Nowhere as he was honored! Congratulations Chief Schwarting and thank you for EVERYTHING that you do for your Company, Department and Village!

On Sunday October 20th, members of Hose 1 and the Rockville Centre Fire Department gathered at Memorial Park to honor and remember those members who passed away in the last year. The Defender Family remembered four of our own members, while Reliance honored two of their members and Alerts commemorated one of their members. The four members we remembered were

Honorary Chief Joe Lagudi
Honorary Chief Carl Boegel Jr.
Honorary Chief Charley Krahm
Ex-Captain Tom O’Boyle

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to our Defender Families as they continue to mourn their loved ones. We also extend our condolences to the Papalia, Lister and Reliance Families as well as the Bernard Family with Alerts.

They all may be gone, but they will never be forgotten.
