Deaf DAWN in DC Mission:
DAWN's mission is to promote healthy relationships and end abuse in the Deaf community of the Washington DC area.

We do this in

No one has to do everything... Everyone has to do something! Ending Violence by Emerging as a Safer Deaf Community. DAWN Services include:

1) Community Education:
DAWN conducts workshops and trainings to different organizations in the DC Metro Area annually. If you are interested in having DAWN present to your organization or class, please contact [email protected].

2) Survivor

Support Services:
* Advocacy (peer, legal, medical and system advocacy)
* Survivor Support Services (case management, resources & referrals, counseling & support group)

3) Network Advocate Program:
Trained hotline Volunteers who provide support, information and resources to callers who contact DAWN's hotline: [email protected].

Something powerful is on the way. 💙

On June 8, 2026, Deaf Survivor Services (DSS) will officially launch - a nationwide direct services program providing virtual support in American Sign Language (ASL) for Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, and stalking.

DSS is rooted in accessibility, empowerment, and survivor-centered care - ensuring survivors can access support in their language and communication needs, wherever they are.
