Tristan Blair, CCECA's 2023 Youth Tour delegate, is heading back to Washington, D.C., as a 2026 Iowa Youth Tour Intern! ⚡🇺🇸

After representing Calhoun County Electric Cooperative on the Youth Tour in 2023, Tristan will have the opportunity to return in a leadership role, helping guide and support the next group of Iowa Youth Tour participants.

We are proud to see Tristan continue his involvement with the Youth Tour program and look forward to following his journey as he joins students from across Iowa in our nation's capital once again.

Meet Tristian!

We’re excited to welcome Tristian back to Youth Tour—this time as our Youth Tour Intern. He went on Youth Tour a few years ago and is returning this year in a leadersihp role. Tristian is also a student at Simpson College, bringing great energy and teamwork to the group.

Here’s a little fun get-to-know-you with Tristian:

Youth Tours attended:
This will be his second time on the trip.

Stop he’s most excited for:
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier — beautiful, emotional, and very moving.

Theme song if he entered a room:
“Hey Ya!” by OutKast

First job:
Working for a cow farmer as a farmhand.

Pet peeve he’d make illegal:
People opening a bag of chips (or anything crunchy) in a quiet environment.

Oldest shoes in his closet:
About three years old.

Favorite snack:
Trail mix (for now — it changes all the time).

Most useless talent:
Knowing a lot about wetlands.

One song he could listen to forever:
“Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd.

We’re thrilled to have Tristian back with us and can’t wait for an amazing Youth Tour experience.

Safety is always a top priority at CCECA. ⚡ During today’s monthly safety meeting, our line crew practiced Mayday procedures, bucket rescue techniques, and climbing competency skills to ensure they are prepared to respond safely and effectively in any situation. The training was led by IAEC Safety Instructor Kyle Kirchner and provided valuable hands-on experience for our crew. Ongoing training like this helps keep our employees safe while continuing to provide reliable service to our members and communities.

CCECA enjoyed attending Conservation Day at University 40 hosted by Calhoun County Conservation for South Central Calhoun 6th grade students! 🌱⚡

Energy Services Manager Curt Batta and Journeyman Lineman Jared Kuhlers talked with students about energy sources and powerline safety, including a visual demonstration to help bring the concepts to life. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with students and help educate the next generation on staying safe and understanding where their power comes from!
