Storm Update 4 3:45pm:
I have completed most damage assessments and have sent them off to the NWS. All power outages should be resolved also. Some storm sirens were tested today and I believe we have resolved the issues. Thank you for your continued support throughout the night and day!

Storm Update 3 11:00am:

For those in Rockwell City most should have power restored with the remaining estimated before 12:00pm. For rural Calhoun County and other smaller communities Mid American Energy is estimating around 3:00pm. If you come upon a downed line do not approach it, always assume it is live.

Storm Update 2 9:30am:

For the citizens in Manson your sirens are being activated as a test and troubleshooting. You may hear them throughout the morning. Thank you!

Storm Update 1 7:00am:

Good morning Calhoun County Residents. Last nights storm produced straight line winds and possibly 1 tornado. I will be out surveying damange. If you have some please post them below or use https://report-ia-state.orioncentral.com/?m=63B2B058-501E-441D-A21B-00D7FE8A79A2 - I also would like to address the siren issues. During the weekly Saturday test all sirens showed they tested correctly however during the storm some failed to activate. Some of your communities had several activations. I chose to sound every siren in Calhoun during the peak of the storm due to the reports of rotation, wind damages, and other factors. Safety is our highest priority and will continue to be. I will be testing sirens throughout the county today to try and fix the issue. Thank you for your feedback and continued support during these times.
