☀️ Beat the Heat, Stay Safe! 💧

With warmer temperatures starting this week, the Rockwell-Swaledale EMTs want to remind everyone to take a few simple steps to stay healthy in the heat:

💦 Drink plenty of water throughout the day—even if you don't feel thirsty.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or in air conditioning whenever possible.
👒 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and a hat if you're outdoors.
🚑 Check on older adults, young children, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
🐾 Don't forget your pets—they need fresh water and a cool place to rest, too.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a short time.

Know the warning signs of heat-related illness, including dizziness, nausea, confusion, heavy sweating, or fainting. If someone is showing signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately.
