π **SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH** π
Sometimes the hardest words to say are:
**βIβm not okay.β**
**βIβm worried about my friend.β**
**βI think they might hurt themselves.β**
You don't have to know exactly what to do. **You just have to speak up.**
π£ WHAT IS SAFE2TELL COLORADO?
**Safe2Tell Colorado** is a free, anonymous reporting system that gives students, parents, and community members a way to report concerns about the safety or well-being of themselves or someone else.
If you are worried that someone may be suicidal, struggling with their mental health, or could hurt themselves, **Safe2Tell can help get that concern to the people who can respond.**
You are not βsnitching.β
**You are advocating. You are protecting. You may be helping save a life.** π
# # # π² HOW DO YOU USE SAFE2TELL?

β€οΈ WHAT IF IT'S YOU?
If **you** are thinking about su***de or hurting yourself, please don't face it alone.
Tell someone you trust.
Call or text **988** for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
And if you are in immediate danger, **call 911** or go to the nearest emergency department.
β€οΈ WHAT IF IT'S SOMEONE YOU KNOW?
**Take them seriously.**
Don't assume they're βjust looking for attention.β
Don't promise to keep suicidal thoughts a secret.
Don't leave someone alone if you believe they are in immediate danger.
Reach out. Listen. Stay with them when possible. Get help.
And if you're not sure what to do, **it's okay to report your concern.**
You don't have to be certain.
You don't have to have all the answers.
**You just have to care enough to say something.**
π¨ KNOW THE DIFFERENCE
**Safe2Tell:**
You're concerned about someone's safety or mental health and need to get the concern to the appropriate people anonymously.
**988:**
Someone is experiencing emotional distress, having thoughts of su***de, or needs someone to talk to.
**911:**
There is an **immediate emergency** or someone is in immediate danger.
Safe2Tell itself also advises using 911 when a situation is an emergency.
π ONE REPORT CAN START A CONVERSATION.
π ONE CONVERSATION CAN CHANGE A LIFE.
π SPEAK UP. YOU COULD BE THE REASON SOMEONE GETS ANOTHER DAY.
**Su***de prevention isn't just about knowing the warning signs. It's about being willing to act when we see them.**
