⚠️ Traffic Alert – Tractor Supply Development ⚠️

Motorists are advised that the westbound lanes near the Tractor Supply development on Route 40 will be closed for construction activities beginning on Monday, June 29th. The closure will begin each day at 7am and will reopen in the evening when work is completed for the day. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 1st. All traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lanes and controlled by flaggers.
📍 Closure Area: Between CVS and Schewels Home Store

Drivers should expect delays and use caution while traveling through the area. Please follow all posted traffic control signs and directions from flagging personnel.

Ron Hodges represented Rocky Mount throughout his Major League Baseball career and continued to make a difference after returning home. His love for this community could be seen in the time he spent coaching, mentoring, and supporting others.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – DENT STREET

🚧 Temporary Road Closure Scheduled 🚧

The Town would like to notify residents and motorists that a temporary road closure will be in effect on Dent Street (near CVS) starting at 7:45 am on Monday, June 8th, to allow crews to perform a waterline tap and related utility work.

Have you ever been driving in Town and noticed cracks in the roadway in your lane or a nearby lane? Well, the Town has! To address some of these road conditions, the Town of Rocky Mount has contracted with an asphalt crack sealing company to fill cracks in town on the following roads: Knollwood Drive, Darlington Drive, Avalon Drive, Cromwell Drive, Brookshire Drive, Holly Knoll Drive, Woodland Drive, Summit Drive, Greenview Drive, Witten Street, High Street, Hale Street, Noel Street, Angle Street, Claiborne Avenue, Stoney Mill Road, and Wrays Chapel Road. This type of work prevents water from getting into and under the pavement, extending the asphalt's life and saving money.

The sealing process will require temporary lane closures on these roads. Crack sealing will start Monday, May 18. The Town asks drivers to watch for cones and flaggers who will guide traffic around actively sealed sections of the roadway. If you see workers in the roadway, please take extra precautions to safely travel through these areas.

In addition to crack filling, there will also be street paving during this time on parts of State Street, Bernard Street and Grayson Street as well as all of Glenwood Drive.

Thank you for driving cautiously in these areas while we improve town streets.
