Our Westlake branch, located in Hardy, is part of the Smith Mountain Lake community. Along with our Bookmobile, we serve the 56,000-plus residents of Franklin County.

Our Summer Reading Challenge begins in 1 week!

On June 10th, you'll be able to register through Beanstack for the challenge, which will run through August 15th. If you already have a Beanstack account, don't make a new one.

Here's what to expect:

Kids 0-11: Read 10 Books! Completion prizes include Adopt-a-Dino, Brag Tags, coupons from local businesses, and a chance to win the grand prize!

Teens 12-17: Read 5 books to earn a chicken nugget keychain and exciting coupons. Each additional book read will earn you an entry into a grand prize drawing.

Adults 18+: Read and review up to 10 books on Beanstack. Each book will count as an entry into our grand prize drawing.

This summer, dig into a good book and Unearth a Story at the Franklin County Public Library!

June 10th through August 15th, we'll be running our annual Summer Reading Challenges! Sign up on Beanstack starting June 10th. We have age categories for Kids 0-11, Teens 12-17, and Adults 18+. There are multiple chances to win prizes, so you won't want to miss out.

Then, embrace a Summer of Fun with all of our exciting programs! We have plenty to keep kids engaged throughout the next few months, as well as activities geared towards teens and adults.
