Yesterday evening, I had the honor of attending the Juneteenth Scholarship Gala hosted by the Epsilon Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

It was an inspiring celebration of culture, legacy, excellence, and the power of education. The highlight of the evening was recognizing five outstanding scholarship recipients whose achievements exemplify the brilliance, determination, and promise of the next generation.

Congratulations to these exceptional scholars on this well-deserved honor. Your future is bright, and your potential is limitless.

Today was a blessing to serve alongside the incredible team and volunteers at Waymakers of North Carolina in Wilson.

My heart is full after spending time with so many amazing people today. The conversations, the laughter - I truly enjoyed every moment.

Grateful for the opportunity to spend the day in community, celebrating health and heritage.

I had the opportunity to attend the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church Healthy Living Community Event in Nashville and the Wilson Juneteenth Festival. Both events brought together people of all ages for fellowship, education, wellness, culture, and celebration.

From conversations about healthy living and community resources to celebrating history, freedom, and the contributions of local businesses and organizations.

I’m thankful for every conversation, every smile, and every opportunity to connect with the people who make Nash, Edgecombe, and Wilson such special places to call home.
