CCCOE: Let there be Laughter! Laughter is good for the soul. Did you know when you laugh, you stimulate several organs in your body, including your heart and lungs? You also increase endorphins in your brain. Laughing can have beneficial long-term effects, including an improved immune system, pain relief, and less stress. Tips from our WISP (Wellness in Schools) program.

It is a New Year, so let's kick it off with kindness! Our Wellness in Schools Program department reminds us all to "Celebrate and practice kindness intentionally." Research tells us there are three domains of learning: cognitive (thinking), motor (physical), and affective (emotional/feeling). And as the Greek philosopher, Aristotle supposedly said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” Ideas for practicing kindness include sharing a compliment, treating someone to coffee, or reaching out to a family member/friend you have not spoken to in a while.
