Spartanburg County School District Six "Where Children are Always First" Spartanburg County School District Six is one of seven districts within Spartanburg County.

Its composition embraces urban, suburban, and rural areas with a population of approximately 53,000 people. The area served by District Six schools is predominantly residential, although the District has experienced industrial and commercial development in recent years. This growth has continued to accelerate, causing the area to become one of the fastest growing areas in the county. Efficient loc

al and county government contributes to the proper setting for educational effort and progress. The school system consists of nine elementary schools, three middle schools, one ninth grade school, one high school and two applied technology centers. District Six was the first in South Carolina to have all schools accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. District enrollment is approximately 11,500, and the district employs approximately 800 certified staff members. Social Media Policy

We are excited to announce that Woodland Heights Elementary School has earned a spot on the 2026 list of America’s Healthiest Schools. This award is given annually to schools across the country from The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, who works with schools to promote health equity environments that support whole child health. These initiatives include increased opportunities for physical activity, enhanced outdoor equipment and walking trails, and a commitment to educating students on exercise and proper nutrition.
