On 09-04-26, at 3:31 p.m., Officers with the Roeland Park Police Department responded to the Wal-Mart at 5150 Roe Blvd, following a report of a shooting in the parking lot. Members from the Fairway Police Department, Westwood Police Department, Shawnee Police Department, and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department also responded to assist.

Upon arrival, officers located evidence indicating that an incident had occurred, including shell casings. The individuals involved left the area prior to officers arriving. Officers conducted a search of the area and were unable to locate any individuals involved.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit and Investigations Unit are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.

We had a great turnout and the event was fun. Thank you to everyone that attended and the Johnson County, KS Sheriff's Office, as well as Johnson County Consolidated Fire District No. 1 - Kansas for being there.

Northeast Johnson County is a close knit community not only for the public, but public safety as well.

Officer Bishop assisted Roeland Park and many other cities in the northeast many times over the years.

Officer Bishop will be missed by all at the Roeland Park Police Department.
