โ˜€๏ธ HELLO SUMMER! REFLECTING ON AN UNFORGETTABLE YEAR ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ’™
โ€‹The hallways are quiet, the laptops are closed, and the sun is shiningโ€”we have officially made it to Summer Break! The 2025-2026 school year at Rogers High School was nothing short of historic. From the very first sunrise in August to the final stadium lights in May, our Mounties poured their hearts into academics, arts, athletics, and community service. Before we completely switch into summer mode, letโ€™s look back at some of the moments that made the biggest impact this year.
โ€‹๐ŸŒŸ THE MOMENTS THAT DEFINED OUR YEAR:
โ€‹A Historic Graduation: Sending off 623 brilliant graduates who earned a staggering, record-breaking $20 million in scholarships to fund their next chapters! ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’ฐ
โ€‹Championship Glory: Watching our Lady Mountie Soccer team clinch the 7A West Conference Championship and celebrating Coach Cardona earning Coach of the Year! โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ†
โ€‹Service Academy Pride: Celebrating senior Sullivan Shepard achieving the rare "triple crown" academy offer and committing to the historic path at West Point. โš”๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
โ€‹Academic Titans: Watching Jacob Vo and Rob Waddoups represent the Big Blue Train at the Capitol for Governorโ€™s Scholastic Honors Day. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ“œ
โ€‹Hands-On Innovation: From Mr. Pate's "junk drawer" taxonomy labs to Mr. Roberts's environmental water-filtration engineering, our students proved that learning has no boundaries. ๐Ÿงช๐ŸŒ
โ€‹Leadership in the Wild: Our newly inducted 2026-2027 Student Council kicking off their legacy by conquering team-building challenges down the Elk River. ๐Ÿ›ถโ˜€๏ธ

๐Ÿ›ถ PADDLES UP: STUDENT COUNCIL TAKES ON THE ELK RIVER! ๐ŸŒŠโ˜€๏ธ
Nothing builds collaboration, trust, and team bonding quite like navigating a canoe up the river! Yesterday, our RHS Student Council traded the committee tables for the great outdoors, spending the day on the Elk River for their annual team-building retreat.

From mastering the art of synchronized paddling to navigating the river currents, our student leaders put their communication skills to the test. It wasn't just about staying afloatโ€”it was about learning to work seamlessly as a unit to steer the upcoming school year in the right direction!

๐Ÿ’ช LESSONS FROM THE CURRENT:
Perfect Synchronization: Canoeing takes two! Students paired up, matching their rhythms and learning that leadership requires listening and adapting to your partner.

Overcoming Obstacles: Navigating river bends and shallow waters mirrored the exact problem-solving skills they'll use to plan school events and advocate for their peers.

Unbeatable Bonding: Shared laughs, a few accidental splashes, and a day under the sun solidified a strong foundation for the 2026-2027 council.

We are incredibly proud of our Student Council for stepping outside their comfort zones to grow closer as a team. The future of Rogers High School is looking incredibly bright! ๐Ÿ”ตโšช๏ธ๐Ÿš‚

๐ŸŒ CLEAN WATER CHALLENGE: MR. ROBERTSโ€™S CLASS DESIGNS HOMEMADE FILTERS! ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ”ฌ
Our environmental scientists are getting their hands dirty to find clean solutions! This week, Mr. Robertsโ€™s Environmental Science students took on the engineering challenge of designing, building, and testing their own multi-layer water filtration systems.

Using everyday materials like sand, gravel, charcoal, and coffee filters, students explored the mechanics of wastewater treatment and the critical importance of clean water access.

๐ŸŒฟ THE ENGINEERING & SCIENCE PROCESS:
To transform murky water into a clearer filtrate, students had to think like civil and environmental engineers:

Layering Strategy: Groups calculated the optimal arrangement of materials. Coarse gravel traps larger debris like twigs, while fine sand catches smaller suspended particles.

The Power of Charcoal: Students learned how activated charcoal acts as an adsorbent, chemically binding to microscopic impurities and removing odors.

Data-Driven Testing: After running their turbid water samples through the prototypes, classes measured the filtration rate and compared the water's clarity "before and after" to evaluate their design's efficiency.

Phenomenal work, Mr. Robertsโ€™s classes! Thank you for proving that at Rogers High School, we don't just study environmental problemsโ€”we engineer solutions. ๐Ÿ”ตโšช๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ

๐Ÿ† COACH OF THE YEAR: CONGRATULATIONS TO COACH CARDONA! โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿฅ‡
The championship accolades just keep rolling in for our soccer program! Hot on the heels of our Lady Mounties clinching the 6A West Conference Championship, we are thrilled to announce that our very own Coach Cardona has been named the 6A West Girls Coach of the Year!

Leading a team to the top of one of the toughest, most competitive conferences in the state of Arkansas requires incredible strategy, leadership, and dedication. Coach Cardona has modeled true "Mountie Grit" all season long, pushing these athletes to reach their highest potential both on and off the pitch.

๐Ÿ”ฅ A CHAMPIONSHIP CULTURE:
This award isn't just about the wins on the scoreboard; it recognizes:
Program Excellence: Cultivating a top-tier, team-first culture from the first day of tryouts.
Player Development: Pushing our athletes to grow as individuals and dominant competitors.
Championship Vision: Navigating a demanding regular season to secure the #1 seed heading into the postseason.

Thank you, Coach Cardona, for your relentless dedication to our student-athletes and for representing the Big Blue Train with absolute class. This honor is well deserved! ๐Ÿ”ตโšช๏ธ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ†
