🚨COMMUNITY DONATIONS NEEDED

With several days of temperatures in the 100s and no measurable rain in quite some time, the Piney Point Fire Department is in urgent need of bottled water and Gatorade to help keep our firefighters hydrated.

Grass/brush fire today on Railroad Cut in the Piney Point area.

Piney Point Brush Units 1441 and 1442 responded along with Engine 1411. A big thank you to RBFD and BLFD for their assistance, as well as Arkansas State Parks.

The fire was caused by power lines that snapped due to the high winds. Power-line slap and damaged lines can become a serious fire hazard when winds pick up, especially with the dry conditions we’re experiencing.

Thankfully, a neighbor spotted the fire and called 911 quickly. That fast call, combined with a quick response and great teamwork among all the departments involved, helped get the fire under control.

Thank you to everyone who responded and worked together today to protect our community!

COMMUNITY PICNIC AT HOBBS STATE PARK!

Our friends at Hobbs State Park–Conservation Area are hosting a FREE Community Picnic, and everyone is invited!

⏰4:00–6:00 PM
📍Visitor Center Pavilion

Come out and enjoy hot dogs, chili dogs, lemonade, tea, chips, ice cream and watermelon — plus a trivia contest and prizes.

It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the park, visit with friends and neighbors, and spend a late-summer afternoon together.
